Many music producers are looking at how to create sound design from scratch, It has come to the point where music and sound designers create their sounds using nothing but microphones and everyday objects.
So, what do you need to create your sound from scratch?
From personal experience, when I used to create my personal sound effects and instrumental sounds.
I used;
For example, I wanted to create some percussions, so I used 2 spoons and carefully banged them together, creating this metallic sound, which was recorded on my professional condenser microphone.
Then, I took this sound and edited it in my DAW. I used FL Studio, and I edited the sound in Edison (audio clip editor), which enabled me to trim the white space within the sound.
So, making sure you trim any white space around your sound is crucial.
Then, I added post effects such as reverb, EQ and compression. I changed the sound from being high on the low end to sounding spatial with higher sound saturation.
So what do I believe you need when making your sound?
Let me know what you think, guys. I think these are the 4 fundamentals of making a decent persoanlized sound or sound effect.
