Hey guys, I wanted to showcase a way the "FL Studio Chop" can be used to make a decent style of hi-hat rolls for any style of genre music production.

I have also demonstrated a tutorial on "FL Studio Hi-Hat Rolls Done Manually"

But, If you are eager to learn how this process of adding hi-hat rolls automatically using the FL Studio Chop feature, I will showcase the steps required shown below.

Step 1: First, setup up your hi-hats as I have shown below inside the piano roll (click on image to see it in larger format):

Step 2: Then select one of the 3 longer patterns near the end of the hi-hat rolls, as shown below (highlighted in red):

Step 3: Now, to this section of the piano roll, I will add "Chop" feature to chop this pattern up into a piano roll.

Step 4: This will open up the chop feature, within the chop feature inside FL Studio, simply select the input of 50% for the 1/3 hi-hat roll patterns, once this has be set click on accept.
Set the hi-hat chop to 50 Percent

Step 5: Now let's edit the 2/3 piano rolls within this hi-hat drum roll, which is the one in the middle. Let's set this one "one step to the left of 50%". This can be adjusted to how much hi-hat roll is required, but using this layout we can create a build up of hi hats, getting faster and faster within the piano roll.

Step 6: Now let's add the same technique to the last of the playlist pattern, chopping up the hi-hats as shown below:

As you can see from above, We have managed to create a build up of hi-hat drum rolls using the "Chop" feature inside FL Studio.

This is possibly the easiest way of making hi-hat rolls inside FL Studio using the "FL Studio Chop" feature, this feature can be used on any hi-hats and pretty much anywhere within the piano roll playlist.

I would recommend music producers to try this feature out, as it can tremendously speed up the hi-hat rolls production.

If you guys have any questions regarding this quick step by step fl studio guide I have created, drop a reply below, and I will do my best to reply to this topic soon as possible.
